MIDI

MIDI works in the local app on your Mac (double-click Start Harmonic). Allow MIDI when Chrome asks.

1. Audio MIDI Setup → Window → Show MIDI Studio → IAC Driver → Device is online.
2. Ableton → Settings → Link, Tempo & MIDI: IAC Driver input: Track on, Sync on. Set tempo to EXT.
3. Chord track: MIDI From = IAC Driver (Bus 1), Ch. 1, Monitor = In.
4. Melody / bass track (KEYS PLAY → NOTES): MIDI From = IAC Driver (Bus 1), Ch. 2. Both tracks can stay armed: each only hears its own channel.

HARMONIQUE

A chord instrument. Every key plays a chord that belongs to the key you pick, and the scope shows which chord sounds good next.

1. Play with your computer keys: A S D F G H J K (white), W E T Y U (black). Or tap the chords on the scope. A MIDI keyboard works too in Chrome.
2. Pick a key and scale in the box on the right.
3. ● REC, play a few chords, then ■ STOP: your loop repeats in time. Or open IDEAS ▸ for famous progressions.
4. Turn on EUCLIDEAN and hold a chord to play it in a rhythm. Switch KEYS PLAY to NOTES to play a melody over your loop.

Tip: wireless headphones (AirPods and other Bluetooth) delay every note a little. Speakers or wired headphones feel instant.
